Government lawyers agree to come back to work

Kathmandu

Jan 24, 2017-

The government lawyers who have been agitating expressing dissatisfaction over the appointment of the high court judges have agreed to return to their regular duties from Wednesday.

The government attorneys have agreed to resume work following separate dialogue with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Law Minister Ajaya Shanker Nayak, Attorney General Raman Kumar Shrestha, Judicial Council member duo, Ram Prasad Sitaula and Padam Baidi.

The agitating side came up with the decision to return to work from tomorrow after an agreement was reached to give emphasis on government lawyers while appointing justices.

The public prosecutors have boycotted their regular works since Sunday protesting the decision to provide very nominal quota to the government lawyers while appointing 80 justices to the high court. RSS
