Notable for being set almost exclusively in one set, the play, written by Reginald Rose, tells the story of a jury consisting of 12 men who deliberate upon a homicide trial.
The play explores the process of consensus-building as the juries representing a diverse range of character traits and personalities argue against each other concerning the homicide.
The Nepali version of the play is translated by Suresh Sapkota and is directed by Rajan Khatiwada. The play marks the theatrical comeback of veteran actor Saroj Khanal. Along with Khanal, the play features actors Pashupati Rai, Sarita Giri, Srijana Subba, Somnath Khanal, Anupam Sharma, Abhaya Baral, Badal Bhatta, Laxmi Bardewa, Bisharad Basnet, Kushal Pandey, Pushkar Karki and Aayan Khadka.
The play is currently being staged at Mandala Theatre in Anamnagar every day (except for Monday) at 4:30 pm and will run through Feb 12.
