Gurung, Lama share second round lead

Overnight leader Gurung carded five-over 73 and Lama shot two-under 66 for total card of six-over 142. Bhuwan Kumar Rokka was in third position at 143 after carding four-over 72. Dinesh Nagarkoti shot 71 and was alone in fourth at 146. Kishan Kaliraj was in fifth at 147 after even-par 68 on Wednesday. Krishna Singh was next at sixth position at 153 followed by Bhuwan Gurung, Rohit Acharya, Kamal Tamang and Bala Ram Poudel in the top 10.
Gurung carded two-over 36 on the front nine and three-over 37 on the back nine. He dropped shots on the 2nd, 7th and 8th holes against a birdie on the 4th on the front nine. Gurung then bogeyed on the 12th, 16th and 17th holes on his way back.
Lama carded three-under 31 on the front nine and one-over 35 on the back nine. He sank birdies on the 2nd, 4th, 5th, holes on his front nine. His back nine card included bogeys on the 11th and 13th against a birdie on the 17th.
In all, 20 golfers are in fray to earn pro card from the 54-hole tournament. Top 5 golfers able to complete the tournament with 18-over or better score will earn pro cards. Once qualified amateurs may hold the tour card or enter as pros on golf tournaments of Surya Nepal Golf Tour at will on a later date.
