Cooking gas dearer by Rs 25 per cylinder
- NOC revises price of LPG
Feb 1, 2017- Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Wednesday raised the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs 25 per cylinder. According to the revised price, a cylinder of cooking gas now costs Rs 1,350 per cylinder except in the Western Nepal. However, the cooking gas in Western Nepal now costs Rs 1,330 per cylinder, NOC said.
NOC said it was compelled to raise the cooking gas price due Indian Oil Corporation (IOC)’s decision to revise the price list. NOC Spokesperson Bhanubhakta Khanal said IOC has raised the LPG price by Rs 102 per cylinder in the revised price list that they have received lately.
NOC receives the revised price list of cooking gas every month while IOC sends price list for other petroleum products on fortnightly basis.
According to Khanal, with IOC revising price of petroleum products this time, NOC’s total loss has increased to Rs478.6 million from Rs379.2 million per month. The state-owned enterprise has been facing loss for the past few months on account of its failure to raise the prices of petroleum products in the line with international market.
