Ratnajit eased to a 21-17, 21-9 win over his Army teammate Nabin Shrestha in the men’s singles final, while his elder sister Nangsal Devi beat Sikshya Shrestha of Nepal APF Club 21-17, 21-17 in the women’s singles final.
Ratnajit teamed up with Nabin to clinch the men’s double titles. The Army duo saw off Bijit Thapa Magar and Bishal Pradhan of APF 21-18, 21-14 in the final. The men’s singles champion earned Rs 60,000, the women’s singles winner received Rs 50,000 and the men’s doubles champions got Rs 50,000 collectively.
Meanwhile, Samrakshyak Bhusan Bajracharya and Mayanka Rana, who clinched the singles championships of the ninth Sahabir Memorial Open Lawn Tennis Tournament, received their awards on Thursday. Both the men’s and women’s singles champions received Rs 60,000 each. New Diamond Academy won the fourth National
Open Women’s Volleyball Tournament. New Diamond rallied from a set down to beat Nepal APF Club 15-25, 25-23, 25-16, 16-25, 15-12 in the final . Western Regional Volleyball Association finished third. New Diamond earned Rs 2,50,000, APF received Rs 1,25,000 and Western took home Rs 50,000.
