The agitating lawyers said the appointment process violated the principle of inclusion and proportional representation enshrined in the constitution and the Judicial Council Act. They want the appointments revoked.
According to Binaya Singh, the central regional vice-chairman of the NBA, Bar central Chairman Sher Bahadur KC has not approved their resignations. Lawyers in Province 2 have boycotted all the court proceedings since January 31 in protest of the judge appointments.
Singh said they are going to sit for talks with the NBA central representatives on Friday. He said the talks between the NBA central representatives and the agitating lawyers on Thursday were indecisive. (PR)
