The Supreme Court hearing on the appointment of Inspector General of Police (IGP) has been postponed for Tuesday.
The date of hearing, slated for today, was pushed back after the Office of Attorney General and Jaya Bahadur Chand were not informed about the supplementary application filed by advocate Kapil Dev Dhakal.
Only hours after the government appointed Chand as new IGP, SC had issued an order to stay the decision.
Chand was third in seniority basis behind DIG Nawaraj Silwal and DIG Prakash Aryal when he was named as new police chief under pressure from Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. Deuba has denied his involvement.
DIG Silwal had also filed a case at the apex court against the government decision.
