A meeting of the Madhesi Morcha held at the office of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party in Bijuli Bazaar, Kathmandu decided to boycott the all-party meeting.
According to Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Ganatantrik Chairman Raj Kishor Yadav, they have decided to boycott the meeting to protest the announcement of local elections date by government.
“We have decided to boycott the all-party meeting after the government announced the date for local bodies elections without our consent,” he said.
The Morcha has decided to carry out torch rallies in various districts of Tarai today.
“The protest will extend from Madhes to the hill areas,” Yadav said.
Along with Madhesi Morcha, Tharuhat Tarai Party and Naya Shakti Party have also decided to boycott the meeting.
