The Supreme Court on Wednesday began hearing on the writ petition filed against the government’s decision to appoint Jay Bahadur Chand as the Inspector General of Nepal Police.
The hearing would continue tomorrow.
Earlier on February 10, advocate Kapil Dev Dhakal had filed the writ petition accusing government of trying to violate the rule of seniority in the appointment of IGP.
Similarly, DIG Nawaraj Silwal on February 12 had moved the SC demanding stay order on the assumption of office by Chand.
The government had appointed DIG Chand as IGP on February 12.
In the division bench of Justices Hari Krishna Karki and Tej Bahadur KC, seven advocates this afternoon had pleaded for DIG Silwal. RSS
