IGP appointment hearing runs out of time, will continue Tuesday

On February 10, advocate Kapil Dev Dhakal had filed the writ petition accusing government of trying to violate the rule of seniority in the appointment of IGP.
Similarly, on February 12, first in the seniority for the appointment, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Nawaraj Silwal moved the SC demanding stay order on the assumption of office by Chand.
The government had appointed DIG Chand as Inspector General of Police on February 12. In the division bench of Hari Krishna Karki and Tej Bahadur KC, eighteen advocates have pleaded for DIG Silwal on Wednesday and Thursday while similar numbers of advocates have registered their names for the pleading for Chand.
