A meeting of Gathabandhan held in the Capital on Friday concluded that it would be forced to withdraw its support extended to the government if the government did not roll back its decision to hold the local level elections.
It has been learnt that the Gathabandhan would announce its final decision after holding another meeting.
“We will not participate in the local level elections slated for May 14 if the government does not ensure passage of the revised constitution amendment bill,” a leader of the Gathabandhan said during the meeting.
A nine-member team under the headship of Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum Nepal Co-chairman Rajendra Shrestha has been formed to announce protest programmes.
Brishesh Chandra Lal, Keshav Jha, Ram Naresh Raya, Dr Om Gurung, Bijay Sainju, Durga Rai, Dalmardan Kami and Prem Bahadur Khati are in the team.
