Mahashivaratri, a popular Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva, was observed across the nation with zest and zeal on Friday by devotees thronging to various holy sites.
Pashupatinath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the world, witnessed a huge inflow of devotees to mark the festival, regarded as the greatest festival according to holy Hindu scriptures—the Puranas.
Sadhus from various parts of Nepal and India visited this holy temple to show their affinity to Lord Mahadev.
