He was 62. Bajracharya was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.
Bajracharya’s foray into Nepali paubha art scene began early on, when he was still a child in his hometown. Bajracharya started off by painting portraits of political figures such as Mahendra Shah, Karl Marx, Nehru and Lenin.
“Bajracharya who infused Malla era-style of art in his work was one among a few artists who have been dedicatedly contributing to the field of Nepali paubha art scene,” said artist Purna Heuju.
Speaking about Bajracharya’s contribuition, another artist Sundar Sinkhawal said, “Apart from talent, good art necessitates perseverance and diligence. Bajracharya was swift in all fronts.”
Bajracharya’s work was slated to be exhibited in 2015 but was halted due to the earthquake. In recent days, the artist was gearing up for the solo exhibition and had already made his catalogues ready but the much-awaited exhibit as fate would have was too late for the artist to see.
