Coordinator of Naya Shakti Party Nepal Baburam Bhattarai has said that amending the constitution with revision in the existing bill is the first precondition for polls.

At an interaction programme organised by Naya Shakti Party Nepal in the Capital on Tuesday, Bhattarai said that the government should amend the constitution to bring dissenting parties on board the elections.

This should not be neglected and all should understand the seriousness of the issue, he added.

He was of the argument that mainly Madhesi, Tharu and Adibasi communities should be taken into confidence for conducting polls.

“The elections process cannot take speed until the local level, autonomous region, protected area and special zone are determined and hence the government should first finalise the number of the local units and their delineation,” he argued. RSS
