HR Meet 2017 this month
Mar 6, 2017-The 10th iteration of the annual HR Meet is slated to be held later this month in the Capital. Organised by Growth Sellers, this year’s HR jamboree will feature noted Indian academics, KV Rao and Isf Raj, as the resource persons for the two-day event.
This year’s theme for the meet will be: HR for all, all for HR.
Speaking to the Post, Mohan Ojha, the managing director of Growth Sellers and a member of the coordination committee for the meet, said that this year’s event is significant not just because the jamboree will be celebrating its 10th anniversary but also because the Nepali market’s focus on HR has grown exponentially in the past decade. “When we first started this meet in 2008, there were hardly a few dozen HR professional in the country,” he said, “But over the last ten years, Nepali companies have begun to fully understand the value and importance of HR in an organisation. Today, there are over a 1000 HR professionals in Nepal, which is indicative of the exponential growth the sector has experienced.”
Ojha added that because two international academic will be conducting workshops at the event, HR Meet 2017 would provide a platform for Nepali HR professionals to understand international trends and gauge their own organisation’s standings in relation to the best practices from around the world. “Besides serving as a great outlet for networking with fellow HR professionals, the meet will also host panel discussions and focus groups which will in turn make suggestions for changes at the policy-level,” he said.
Spread over two days, HR Meet 2017 will see two keynote sessions by the visiting speakers. Dr KV Rao will be conducting a session titled The Power of 360 Degree Feedback, where he will speak about how his methodology will aid in leadership development, succession development, creating happiness and fulfilment at the work place. Rao also will share the findings of his research from his book, 100 Managers in Action, where he documented life stories of 100 managers chosen from over 8000 mangers, assessed by over 80,000 employees. Meanwhile, Dr Isf Raj will host a session titled The Emerging Roles and Response of HR Over the Decades, where he will talk about the need for HR Managers to be responsive to the demands by being effective and responding to the call for all seasons, contribute to the growth and development of learning culture in organisations. The two keynote sessions will be followed by six others conducted by Nepali HR professionals and CEOs.
Organiser has fixed the registration fee for participants at Rs 6,500. The event will be held at the Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza on March 29 and 30.
