Man Bahadur Shahi, a Phugad local, said the opening of the track has benefitted around 9,000 families from villages likes Raku, Mehelmudi, Mumra, Sipkhana, Phukot and Nanikot.
Small vehicles are already plying the newly opened track, from Jite to Sannigadh.
Laxmi Prasad Baral of Phukot said they had never imagined that they would live to see a motor car drive through their village.
Our days of carrying daily goods on our backs from the markets in Kailali and Bardiya are over, she added.
The NA is opening tracks for the Karnali Corridor from Kalikot, Bajura and Humla simultaneously. The track for a 196 km corridor is expected to complete by next three years.
