Addressing a press conference after the conclusion of the party’s Mechi-Mahakali campaign that began from Kakarvitta of Jhapa district and concluded at Kanchanpur of Far-West on Friday, leader Oli said the party launched the campaign in order to provide impetus for holding all three elections within the deadline set by the constitution.
“This was not an ordinary campaign,” said Oli. “The main objective of the campaign is to create public pressure for the implementation of the constitution and create a favourable environment for political stability by holding all three level elections.”
He claimed that the campaign’s objective is to raise awareness to cope with the emerging challenges for nation’s self-respect sovereignty and independence and to improve the social harmony deteriorating because of different kind of extremisms.
He cautioned the government not to be involved in any activities that would affect the elections. He criticised the government for failing to do anything tangible other than announcing the date for local level elections. He further expressed his doubts that the Prime Minister himself is conspiring to foil the election or acting under the influence of others.
