2 killed, 7 injured as truck’s brake fails at Gurjudhara
Two persons died and seven others were injured when a truck hit several moving vehicles after its brake failed on the Kalanki-Nagdhunga road section in Gurjudhara, Kathmandu on Friday.Two persons died and seven others were injured when a truck hit several moving vehicles after its brake failed on the Kalanki-Nagdhunga road section in Gurjudhara, Kathmandu on Friday.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be established.
According to DSP Krishna Pangeni, the truck (Na 3 Kha 9773) heading towards Kalanki from Thankot collided with a mini truck (Me 1 Kha 2439), a scooter ( Ba 69, Pa 6285) and a taxi (Ba 1 Ja 7967) coming from the opposite direction.
The truck driver fled the scene after the incident and police have been searching for him.
Mini truck driver Damber Pokhrel, 37, of Jhapa has been seriously injured in the incident.
Pokhrel along with other injured are receiving medical treatment at the Bir Hospital, and Vayodha Hospital among other health facilities, police said.
