Speaking with journalists in his home district Sarlahi on Saturday, the leader said the country would head towards violence if the elections were conducted forcefully.
Moreover, the leader urged major parties not to remain adamant with their stance on holding elections at a time when people are fighting for their rights.
“Three major parties who endorsed the faulty constitution should be responsible for its amendment,” said Mahato, “If they have correct intention, constitution can be amended in a few days and elections can be held on the slated date.”
Leader Mahato opined that they [Madhesi Morcha] were betrayed by the government which they had supported thinking that it would facilitate in addressing their grievances.
“Our leaders are either being coerced or unduly influenced to forget our agendas,” alleged leader Mahato, “Now, we won’t settle for mere agreements. We want actual works.”
