NFPJ, OJA condemn attack on photo journalists

Similarly, the Online Journalists Association (OJA) said its serious attention has been drawan towards the attack on photo journalists outside RRL campus.
Earlier in the day, an unruly group hurled the petrol bomb targeting a group of journalists gathered outside the college to cover the FSU election.
Kathmandu Post photographer Keshav Thapa and Onlinekhabar photographer Shreedhar Poudel were injured in the attack.
“The NFPJ strongly demands the government identify the culprits involved in hurling petrol bombs and bring them to justice,” the NFPJ wrote in its statement today. The organisations have also demanded the government provide medical treatment for the injured journalists.
The NFPJ and OJA have also called on the concerned stakeholders to create an environment conducive for free dissemination of information by the media that is termed as the fourth pillar of the nation.
