As the government has announced to recruit temporary police personnel for the polls, a large score of people especially youths have been desperate to get this job.
As evident like in various other districts across the country where the process has already started, the respective application collection centres in Rupandehi have been crowded with the applicants mostly from youths.
According to Home Ministry, 70,000 temporary police are required for the elections and who are supposed to assist security personnel in maintaining security arrangement during the polls. The government had also hired Temporary police personnel in both erstwhile first and second Constituent Assembly elections.
The recruitment process has started six days ago in Rupandehi and approximately 3,000 people filed applications for the temporary police personnel until Thursday's noon, said the District Police Office.
The applicants include students pursuing plus two, Bachelors and Masters' degrees and former security personnel of Nepal Police and Nepal Army and ex-service person of the Indian Army of Nepali origin.
Of them, 60 percent are from Madhesi community while the rest 40 from hilly community, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bel Bahadur Pandey.
Approximately 1500 Temporary police personnel are expected to be in need in Rupandehi for the polls, he added. RSS
