The Supreme Court on Friday issued a show cause notice in the name of government regarding its actions and activities over border management within 15 days.

A single bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai had sought written clarification from the government on the activities at Nepal-India border among other aspects.

The SC has asked the government to furnish written clarification over management of Nepal-India open border, review all bilateral treaties and agreements, security arrangements and misuse and encroachment of border among others within 15 days.

Lawyers Rajablal Baidhya, Chandrakanta Gyawali, Tikaram Bhattarai, Dinmani Pokharel had participated in the hearing over a writ filed about a week ago.

During the hearing, an expert on Nepal border Buddhi Narayan Shrestha had also put forth his views.
