Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the process of appointing the Inspector General (IG) of Nepal Police should be moved ahead according to the decision of Supreme Court.

Addressing a joint meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee and Parliamentary Party on Friday, the leader expressed his dissatisfaction over the decision of the party President Sher Bahadur Deuba that the NC would not follow the decision of SC regarding the appointment of Nepal Police IG.

Deuba had reportedly said in Biratnagar that appointing a new IG was the job of the government.

Leader Paudel made such statement at a time when Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi are at the odds over the appointment of the Nepal Police IG.

Moreover, he said that there is no alternative to follow the decision of SC.
