Sanghiya Gathabandhan, an alliance of Madhesi and Janjati parties, has announced various forms of protest programmes beginning from April 18 against the local bodies election.
The protests were made public amid a press meet in the Capital on Sunday.
The Gathabandhan will begin its protest programmes from April 18 and continue up to the May 14 election. Gathabandhan has called for indefinite general strike across the country from May 10 while it will organise torch rally, mass assemblies, demonstrations in the days up to the general strike.
A statement issued by the alliance said its protest was to ensure the rights of the people and safeguard the norms of democracy.
