Addressing a public gathering organised in Chitwan on Wednesday, Thapa urged the SLMM to participate in the elections.
Thapa, also the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Federal Affairs and Local Development, said that the government and political parties have the common end to enable rights of the Madhesi people but the means to attain this is different.
"We can explore a way out through dialogue and consensus. But there is no point shying away from the elections", he added.
DPM Thapa clarified that the constitution amendment bill was registered at the Parliament to facilitate the SLMM participation in the elections.
Thapa also asked the voters to cast their votes as a nationalist Nepali with self-pride. RSS
