Police disrupt Chand party’s anti-poll events

In Butwal, security personnel disrupted the function organised at Traffic Chowk to protest the local elections set for May 14.
Police captured the stage immediately after the programme was started. Supporters gathered at the venue dispersed following the police action.
Deputy Super-intendent of Police Mukunda Mara-sini said they foiled the anti-election event as directed by the centre.
In Janakpur, security personnel clashed briefly with the party cadres as the former attempted to capture the stage. The party’s central leaders including Dharmendra Bastola and Ishwori Dahal were scheduled to address the function.
