Organised by Restless Development Nepal, a non-profit organisation working towards issues such as gender equality and humanitarian actions, the fest will commemorate the Gorkha Earthquake, which will mark two years this Saturday.
The one-day fest will offer three different adventurous sports—rafting, canyoning and bungee jump.
Speaking to the Post, Shiwanee DC of Restless Development Nepal, said: “We are a youth-oriented organisation, run mostly by youths—and the main objective of the upcoming fest is to reach out to the younger adventurers and create a platform for them to have fun and simulatenously contribute to a cause. It’s a win-win situation.”
Organisers say the festival is expected to see more than 100 participants. The fees for participation are priced at Rs 3,000 for rafting and Rs 5,000 for canyoning and bungee jump. According to the organisers, all the proceeds from the fest will go to their upcoming projects, which focus on gender equality, livelihood, humanitarian action, good governance and education.
Charity Adventure Fest is taking place for the first time in Nepal.
