The writing contest is being held in partnership with author Samrat Upadhyay and the US-based literary journal Indiana Review.
The contest is part of a project supervised by Samrat Upadhyay, a pioneering Nepali-born fiction writer, under which a select number of MFA students travel to Nepal and participate in cultural tours and literary activities. The students conduct workshops, visit schools, serve on literary panels and give readings.

The contest will award its top three winners with Rs 12,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 3,000, respectively.
