The party has accused the government of conspiring to foil the election under various pretexts.
After the commencement of House meeting today, CPN-UML lawmaker Ganga Lal Tuladhar alleged that the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development issued circulars to various districts directing to increase the number of local units within April 27 so as to make it different from the report of Local Level Restructuring Commission.
The parliament was obstructed after the CPN-UML lawmakers stood from their seats after lawmaker Tuladhar said that the House would not resume until the concerned government ministry comes up with its response on the issue.
House Speaker Onsari Gharti adjourned the House for 15 mintues following the obstruction by CPN-UML lawmakers.
The government is preparing to increase the number of local units in Tarai districts according the agreement reached with Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha in order to bring them on board for elections. The House meeting was summoned for 1 pm today.
