According to UML leader Subas Nembang, four top leaders—Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba and RPP Chairman Kamal Thapa—will discuss the issues that prompted the second largest party to obstruct the House on Tuesday, before Parliament meets at 11am on Wednesday.
Other issues concerning the budget and the second phase of local polls would be sorted within a day or two through talks among the major parties.
During the meeting held in Baluwatar, Oli had strongly criticised the government for its unilateral decisions. He claimed that the ruling coalition had committed blunders while deciding to conduct the elections in two phases and increasing further the number of local federal units in the Tarai. Oli questioned whether the government wanted to hold the polls or to spoil the environment being created for the same.
The meeting of the Nepali Congress, UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), the RPP and the Nepal Loktantrik Forum agreed to build consensus on the pressing issues.
According to Maoist Spokesperson Pampha Bhusal, the parties agreed to give continuity to bilateral and multi-lateral consultations in order to ensure constitutional amendments and to sort the issue of budget presentation amidst a tight schedule of the polls. follows you
