The government has decided to roll back its decision to increase local units.

Earlier on Saturday, the ruling parties had agreed to increase the local units to address the demands of Sanghiya Gathabandan.

According to CPN-UML Chief Whip Bhanubhakta Dhakal, the decision to increase the local units has been revoked after a meeting between the leaders of ruling and opposition parties at New Baneshwor.

Taking back a letter sent by the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, leader Dhakal said that the parties have decided to hold talks again and forge consensus to resolve the problem.

The main opposition CPN-UML had obstructed the Legislature-Parliament meeting today arguing that the government sent letters to the districts to increase the local units after the announcement of local polls.
