The event has been called off for the time being after Chief Election Commissioner Ayodhyee Prasad Yadav got ill and was admitted to Dhapasi-based Grande Hopital.
According to EC Spokesperson Surya Prasad Sharma the app and call centre have been created to facilitate the voters to access their information and to conduct voters’ education.
The mobile app was scheduled to be launched amid a programme being held at the EC office at 10 am today. Although call centres had been established in the previous elections, the EC mobile app has been introduced for the first time.
Meanwhile, the EC informed that 412 election officers deployed to 42 districts where elections will be held in the second phase (June 14) have returned.
However, 291 election officers and 41 Chief Election Officers at 34 districts where elections are scheduled to take place on May 14 are on the working field, informed Sharma.
