The RCW defeated Kailali District Cricket Association by 17 runs while APF hammered Kanchanpur XI by eight wickets. In the first match of the day, RCW posted 137-6 in their allotted 20 overs before restricting Kailali for 120-8. Top order RCW batswomen Pooja Nimayat, Shahnaz Parbin and Laxmi Chaudhary all chipped before Aarati Bidari finished their innings with an unbeaten 22 off 20 balls. While Pabin and Chaudhary scored 20 runs each, Nimayat hit 19 with four hits to the fence in her 11-ball cameo. Chandani Shah took two, while Suman Bista, Anjali Chand and Laxmi Saud claimed one wicket each for Kailali.
Kailali openers Nitu Bhandari and Manju Bokati gave a desired start to their run chase with a 48-run stand. But their dismissal meant only No 3 batswoman Kabita Kunwar could manage to score in double figure as Kailali fail short of their target. Bhandari made 35 off 38 balls with five boundaries, while Bokati scored 20. Achmina Karmacharya grabbed three and player-of-the-match Nimayat took two wickets for RCW.
In another match, Kanchanpur were dismissed for an embarrassing 35 runs in 12.3 overs with player-of-the-match Sita Rana Magar, Sarita Magar and Binu Budamagar taking two wickets each. The departmental team completed the chase for the loss of two wickets in just five overs. Jyoti Pandey scored 12 for APF. Dolly Bhatt took both the APF wicket to fall.
The six-team tournament is the highest cash prize event so far in the history of Nepali women’s cricket with the champions earning Rs 200,000. Runners-up will take home Rs 100,000. The best player will earn Rs 25,000, while the best batswoman, bowler and wicketkeeper will get Rs 10,000 apiece. Top two teams qualify for the semi-finals.
