A team of ornithologists, researchers, students and bird watchers has started a bird count in Pokhara, Kaski.
The members affiliated to the Bird Conservation Association and Pokhara Bird Society as well as the students of Institute of Forestry are participating in a five-day bird count, which focuses on the bird population in urban environment.
Hemanta Dhakal, who has been involved in research of vulture for the past eight years, said they have dedicated their census in 12 areas of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City.
On the first day of the count, he said, the team recorded 21 species of birds.
