Senior political leaders busy in election campaigns on the last day

All the top leaders of three major parties—Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Centre)—have reached difference places to join election campaigns in the three provinces where the first phase of election is taking place on May 14.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba is scheduled to address election assembly in three districts—Chitwan, Lamjung and Kathmandu –on Thursday. Deuba and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will address a joint meeting of NC and CPN (MC) in Bharatpur, Chitwan. NC and CPN (MC), who have forged electoral alliance in different places, have jointly fielded PM Dahal’s daughter, Renu Dahal, for the post of Bharatpur Metropolitan City mayor, and NC leader Parbati Shah for the post of deputy mayor. Senior NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel is in his home district Tanahu.
CPN (MC) Dahal is also busy in electioneering on Thursday. After returning from Chitwan, Dahal will be addressing two election meetings in Kathmandu—Nagarjun and Kirtipur.
According to Maoist Centre, Pampha Bhusal and Barsha Man Pun are busy in Lalitpur while Narayan Kaji Shrestha is in his home district Gorkha. Mani Thapa and Dev Gurung are currently in Sindhuli and Manang respectively. Agni Sapkota is scheduled to address election assemblies in Kavrepalanchok and Sindhupalchok.
CPN-UML leaders Ishwor Pokharel, Gorkarna Bista and Surendra Pandey are in Chitwan while Bamdev Gautam is in Pokhara on the last day election campaign. According to CPN-UML sources, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is addressing election assemblies in Kageshwori Manahara, Kirtipur and Mahalaxmi municipalities in Kathmandu valley.
UML leaders Pradeep Gyawali, Yogesh Bhattarai and Krishna Gopal Shrestha are addressing separate election meetings in Kathmandu valley.
