25-42 pc votes cast so far: EC [UPDATE]
The average voting has reached 20 percent by 10.15am in 32 districts, according to EC.The average voting has reached 20-42 percent in the local level elections being held in 281 local bodies of 34 districts so far, EC said.
Election Commission (EC) has said that 42 percent of voters of scarcely populated Manang District have cast their votes.
There are 5,095 voters in this mountainous district. Voting has begun since 7am in all the polling centres where first phase of local elections is taking place.
In Kaski, 35 percent voters have cast their votes, 35 percent in Syangja and 30 percent in Mugu.
Likewise, 25 percent of voters of Rukum district have also cast their votes, according to Narad Gautam, a member of communication management unit of EC.
EC said that it has not received any information about postponement of the voting in any polling centre.
Out of 283 local bodies where first phase elections were scheduled, the elections are being convened in 281 local bodies only as other two local entities have already received their representatives who won unopposed during nomination of their candidacy.
