According to the EC, 50-75 percent of votes were cast in the district of three provinces 3, 4 and 6.
Six districts—Sindhhupalchok, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Makwanpur, Mustang and Dolpa witnessed above 70 percent voting until 3 pm.
The elections were held peacefully across the except for a violent incident at Melung Village Council-1. A group of people vandalised a polling centre in Melung, and attempted to loot ballot papers and ballot boxes, forcing the security personnel to open fire in which a person was killed, the EC said.
The highest 57 percent voting has taken place in Lumjung by the noon.
Rasuwa, Chitwan, Lamjung, Tanahun, Kaski, Manang, Mustang, Parbat, Dolpa, Dailekh and Surkhet are the districts where 50 or more percent of voting has completed, according to the EC.
Overall, voting has completed from 30-57 percent in these districts, election body said in a press release.
Voting is taking place in almost all the polling centres while voting has been delayed in a polling centre at Namobuddha Municipality in Kavrepalanchowk district, according to the EC.
