EC to use red ink in Swastik stamp in second phase local polls

- Post Report, Kathmandu

May 19, 2017-Election Commission has decided to use red ink in Swastik stamp for the second phase of local level elections amid complaints that same colour of both election symbols and stamp made vote counting difficult.

EC Spokesperson Surya Sharma said that election body decided to purchase red ink for the purpose.

The EC had used blue ink in Swastik stamp in the first phase of May 14 local polls

Blue stamp had made counting process worse which was already tedious counting process due to the large size and large number of election symbol.

The second phase of local polls has been scheduled for June 14.
