During a meeting called by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at his official residence in Baluwatar on Friday, the leaders discussed key issues such as constitution amendment bill tabled by the government at the Legislature-Parliament, second phase of local level elections, fiscal budget and increasing the number of local units in Tarai.
On the occasion, PM Dahal thanked all the political parties and voters for taking part in the elections saying the successful completion of the first phase of local polls was a proud moment for the country.
Stressing on national consensus to implement the constitution, PM Dahal, who is also the Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre), urged the political parties to forge consensus to hold the second phase of local level elections, increase the number of local units in Tarai, pass the constitution amendment bill and to unveil the budget.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, Deputy Prime Minister and Local Development Minister Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, CPN-UML Vice-Chairman duo Subash Nembang and Bhim Rawal and CPN (Maoist Centre) leader Narayankaji Shrestha, among other leaders, were present in the meeting.
