Over 100 amateur golfers, including five from India, will battle it out for the top honour. The one-day event will be played over 18 holes on a stableford format with 3/4 handicap allowance. Prizes on offer include overall winner and runner-up, ladies winner and runner-up, senior winner and runner-up, junior winner and runner-up, best gross, longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and most birdies.
Pulak Chakraborty, Chief Executive of Twohmp, the company that organises golf events for Nescafe Gold in India and Nepal, said they were energized to hold the tournament due to an overwhelming response last year. “We expect this event to grow in the years to come as we are committed to continue our association with the golf in Nepal,” added Chakraborty.
Senior Golf Director of the Gokarna Forest Resort Deepak Acharya said they had a tremendous response to the tournament as 100 golfers have already confirmed their participation. “But due to our limitation to complete the event in one day, we can not entertain more than 100 golfers. The other reason to limit the numbers of participation is to manage the event properly,” said Acharya.
