Bharatpur
Vote counting in Bharatpur Metropolitan City has been put off amid protest from the cadres of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP).
The ruling NC and CPN (Maoist Centre) had forged an electoral alliance in Bharatpur Metro before the elections.
The agitating Maoist cadres resorted to protests accusing irregularities in the counting. They claimed that the election commissioner didn’t unveil the number of valid and invalid votes while making public the data.
They claimed that Renu Dahal, a mayoral candidate of Bharaptur Metro, who was leading in the initial count, began to trail after anomalies in counting.
