Haribahadur, which was released in the Capital early this month, is Acharya’s first novel.
The book is set on the teleserial Haribahadur Madanbahadur which featured Acharya and his longstanding acting partner Madankrishna Shrestha (together known as MaHa Jodi). Haribahadur is Acharya’s second book, following 2013’s acclaimed Cheena Harayeko Manchhe. The book was published under the Fineprint banner.
About the book, author Acharya has said, “When I wrote Cheena Harayeko Manchhe, I didn’t have to think about a subject. What
I experienced in my life was the very subject of the book. But when I sat down to write a new book, I had to come up with a new subject. There are plenty of films based on books. But, a book based on a film? This, as far as I know, has never happened. Then, why don’t I attempt it myself? I was excited.”
The book tour will kick off with an event at Sabhagriha Hall in Pokhara on May 27 and then will travel to Butwal, Dang, Surkhet, Kohalpur, Dhangadi, Narayangarh, Birtamode, Dharan, Biratnagar, before drawing to close with an event in Sindhuli on June 8.
The events will feature author Acharya engage in discussions with scholars and enthusiasts.
