The Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2017, the country’s premier beauty pageant, held Berger Talent Show at the premises of Russian Culture Centre in the Capital on Monday.The Hidden Treasure Miss Nepal 2017, the country’s premier beauty pageant, held Berger Talent Show at the premises of Russian Culture Centre in the Capital on Monday. The talent show will go on to decide the winner of the sub-title Berger Miss Talent, which will be announced on June 2 at the pagent’s finale. The show saw performances by 19 contestants who showcased their talents through dances, songs, skits and aerobics.
While each of the contestants presented unique skills on stage, the programme had five personalities—Sailab Ghosh, country manager of Berger Paints Nepal, Deepak Bhandari, president of Kathmandu Jaycees, Raju Singh, music conductor, Mukunda Khadka, veteran pop singer along with Subima Shrestha and Pabitra Acharya—dance choreographers—adjudicating the performances.
Speaking to the Post during the event, Subarna Chettri, the former chairman and director of the Hidden Treasure said, “This is the first time after our four-week long extensive training that the contestants are finally on the stage in front of an audience.” He added, “One should not be mistaken that this is a cultural show, this is an opportunity for the contestants to unleash their hobby and passion on stage.”
“I have been choreographing and mentoring Miss Nepal contestants for a very long time now; every year the experience has been different,” said Rachana Gurung Sharma, choreographer at the Hidden Treasure. “It is the contestants’ job to present their talent on the stage, my job is to guide and train them for improvement,” she added.
Along with Miss Talent, the contestants are vying for six subtitles, along with the coveted crown.
