Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat in a condolence letter to his British counterpart Boris Johnson said that the incident, which the UK police says is treating as a terrorist attack, claiming 22 lives has saddened him and the government of Nepal.
Mahat has expressed heartfelt condolence on behalf of the Nepali people to the British government and the British people, a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
A suicide bombing at a concert by US star Ariana Grande in the 21,000-capacity Manchester Arena, in northwestern England, designed to cause “maximum carnage” killed 22 people including children on Monday night, in the deadliest terror attack in Britain for more than a decade. People involved in such inhumane activity should be brought to book, Mahat has said, adding that Nepal denounces all forms of terrorism and the government of Nepal stands with the British government and the British citizen at this hour of grief. He also wished for speedy recovery of people injured in the attack.
