Oppn parties obstruct House; next meet slated for tomorrow

Earlier in the day, the opposition parties had allowed President Bidhya Devi Bhandari to present the government’s annual policies and programmes before the House. The opposition parties have been obstructing the House to protest against the recent Cabinet decision to increase the number of local units in Tarai district.
The House was called for the second time today to conduct the regular business. Due to the obstruction, PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal could not table the policies and programmes presented by President Bhandari. The House couldn’t thank the president for unveiling the annual policies and programmes.
The opposition parties have also been demanding the ruling parties withdraw the impeachment motion against Chief Justice Sushila Karki.
The Parliament has not been able to hold pre-budget discussion due to the obstruction. The Parliament has been postponed till 1 pm, Friday.
