Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has remarked that his government not just a caretaker.Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has remarked that his government not just a caretaker.
He said so while responding to questions regarding the government’s annual policies and programmes raised by lawmakers at the Legislature-Parliament on Sunday.
“Neither the government has lost the majority not the people were against it. My resignation from the Prime Minister’s post is a strategic move to provide the outlet to the nation,” said Dahal, who stepped down from the PM’s post on Wednesday.
Dahal said that he was been continuously striving to take the opposition parties into confidence. “There is a reason behind the opposition parties’ preference that I continue to take the government leadership a little more time,” said Dahal.
He claimed that the government successfully held the first phase of local level elections by bringing together mountain, hill and Tarai and ensured the conduction of second phase of polls.
“The election wouldn’t have been possible, if I was concerned about the election results,” said Dahal. “I didn’t push for winning the elections, rather I created the opportunity for you to win the election by bringing Madhes, hill, and mountain,” he added, hinting at KP Oli, chairman of CPN-UML that have won the highest seats in the first phase of polls held in 281 local units.
