The vote counting in Bharatpur Metropolitan City has been put off until May 31.
The main opposition CPN-UML has demanded prompt resumption of vote counting in Bharatpur Metropolitan City while the ruling Nepali Congress has demanded re-election in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-19.
A meeting of the EC held on Monday decided to form a probe committee coordinated by Joint Attorney General Gita Prasad Timilsina comprising a representative from the Home Ministry and Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police as per the Local Level Election Act 2073 Article 50 (3).
It is learnt that the committee will visit the incident site today itself and submit its report. The vote count of the metropolis has been halted till then.
