Five-day art exhibit in Pokhara
A regional art exhibition organised by Nepal Fine Arts Academy’s Chitrakala Bibhaag is currently ongoing in Pokhara.A regional art exhibition organised by Nepal Fine Arts Academy’s Chitrakala Bibhaag is currently ongoing in Pokhara. The exhibit features paintings created at an art workshop held at Lakeside, Pokhara on Saturday. The workshop, held on Saturday, was inaugurated jointly by Ragini Upadhayay, culture expert Tirtha Shrestha, and education entrepreneur Ashok Palekhe.
The exhibit has put on display 29 paintings by artists from Kaski, Tahanu, Baglung, Parbat, Syangja, Lamjung and Pokhara. Through their works, the artists have touched upon various social and environmental issues such as lake conservation, climate change, politics, and history, among others. Some artists featured in the exhibit are Gopal Shrestha, Buddhi Gurung, Yadav Chandra Bhurtel, and Kiran Ranjit.
The exhibit organised in collaboration with Pokhara’s Shrijanashil Artists Group was inaugurated by the newly-elected mayor of the city, Man Bahadur GC. Speaking at the event, GC said, “We are interested in establishing an art gallery here in Pokhara in the near future as we believe art is vital to our identity and is an important part of our culture.”
