Deuba sworn in as PM

Deuba was elected the 40th prime minister on Tuesday securing 388 votes in the 593-member Parliament.
PM Deuba is currently leading an eight-member Cabinet with three members from his party, the Nepali Congress, as many from the CPN (Maoist Centre), and one member from the Nepal Loktantrik Forum.
After taking the oath of office, PM Deuba administered the oath to the newly appointed ministers on Wednesday itself.
After the swearing in, Deuba assumed office in Singha Durbar.
His government then endorsed a plan to establish the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. PM Deuba also put his signature on a proposal regarding the formulation of “Good Conduct Policy”.
The Maoist Centre, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal, Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal, Nepal Loktantrik Forum and the CPN (Samyukta), among other fringe parties, supported Deuba in the prime ministerial election on Tuesday, ensuring his return to power after 12 years.
