Abducted boy, 7, freed from India, 3 arrested

Rakesh Yadav, son of Rampukar, was abducted 10 days ago by two persons who came on a motorcycle while he playing in the courtyard of his house. Sarlahi Police, in coordination with Indian police, rescued the abducted boy from Godasan Railway Station in India on Wednesday.
According to police statement, 10 people were involved in the abduction. “Ashok Yadav, Bikki Yadav and Mohan Sah of Rautahat were arrested on the charge of abduction,” said Superintendent of Police Uttamraj Subedi, adding that the Indian police held five others who were also wanted in connection with other abduction cases in India.
Police also seized a motorcycle with Indian number plate that was used in abduction. The main kidnapper is on the run in India, said SP Subedi.
“The kidnappers had demanded Rs 5 million as ransom over the phone. People who know me might have kidnapped my son,” said Rampukar, Rakesh’s father, a businessman in Barhathawa. The victim’s family has demanded the local authorities security of their lives and properties citing that they are still under threat.
India-bound woman rescued
An India-bound Nepali woman was rescued from the Nepal-India border in Gaddachauki, Kanchanpur, on Thursday. The 21-year-old woman from Sindhupalchok was stopped by the workers of anti-human trafficking organisation, Maiti Nepal, after finding that she was headed to the Indian capital, New Delhi, with the intent of flying to Turkmenistan. She said that a foreign employment agent had arranged her journey.
